Salman, Al-Sisi discuss Cairo Declaration
Applying document's terms to help achieve Arab nations' interests, say two leaders
Published in Daily News Egypt on 01 - 08 - 2015

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi received a phone call Friday from Saudi king Salman bin Abdul Aziz, during which the two leaders discussed matters of mutual interest.
The most notable of these was the recently announced Cairo Declaration, which was signed between the two countries on Thursday.
The two leaders affirmed their will to work together on applying the terms of the Cairo Declaration to help achieve the Arab nations' interests, according to a statement from the Presidency's spokesperson.
The Cairo Declaration, a document signed Thursday after a meeting between Al-Sisi and Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman, who paid a visit to Cairo on Thursday, reinforces the strategic alliance between the two countries. It also enhances mutual cooperation on six different levels, notably in the military, investment, trade, politics, culture and media sectors.
Arab League Secretary General Nabil El-Araby referred to the agreement as constituting a major step in the development of bilateral relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
El-Araby further noted that the talks held between the two countries, and the agreement to adopt the Joint Arab force, will positively reflect on the upcoming meeting of Arab defence and foreign ministers on 27 August.
Salman also thanked Al-Sisi for an invitation to an official visit Egypt that was issued during bin Salman's visit.
