Mr. Gerald Ilukwe, the Managing Director, Galaxy Backbone disclosed the forum is a Stakeholders' Awareness Series (SAS) hosted by his company to stimulate dialogue on how stakeholders in the defense, intelligence and security community could leverage the benefits of Information and Communication Technologies to meet contemporary challenges in the defense sector.
He said, “The forum is particularly pertinent given the current national security situation and the general acceptance that ICTs will play a vital role in addressing such challenges.”
He also noted that the country must be prepared to conduct a wide range of operations from conflict prevention through counter-terrorist strategies to international peacekeeping and warfare operations in the face of threats that challenges its national security.
A press statement endorsed by the Marketing Communications Manager, Mr. Franklyn Eke showed that the theme for the forum is, “Integrated ICT Framework for the Defense Sector: An Imperative for National Security”, and the format would involve the presentation of papers to be followed by panel discussions.
