CAIRO: Speaker of the Egyptian Parliament Saad al-Katatny said on Monday in an address that the ministry of interior had responded to their appeal of moving ousted president Hosni Mubarak to the Torah prison hospital. Mubarak is currently receiving treatment at a high-end medical facility in the resort town of Sharm al-Sheikh, a favorite spot of the ousted president. Doctors assigned to his care previously said that Mubarak's condition is not fit for treatment at the modest Torah prison hospital and that his life could be in danger. 83-year-old Mubarak allegedly suffers from “severe” depression and heart problems. Katatny said that the ministry is working on transferring Mubarak to the prison hospital within a few days. The ministry also said they will transfer other former officials to separate prisons after they were all gathered in the same unit. Mubarak's two sons Alaa and Gamal, former minister of interior Habib al-Adly and 6 of his top aides plus several former ministers are currently on trial for corruption charges and killing protesters during the first 18 days of the Egyptian uprising in January 2011 that forced out the government and the 30-year-old regime.
