CAIRO: Bob Bradley and the Egyptian Football Association announced the squad that will take part in the friendly match against Brazil in Doha on November 14. The list contains some surprises both because of inclusions and exclusions to the team. Most notably left off the team sheet for the upcoming match against the five-times world champions is Mohamed Aboutrika. Bradley did not call in the Ahly talisman but maintains that the door has not been closed for future call-ups. In a press conference the former US head coach said, “Aboutrika is a great player but there are also many good players in his position and I preferred to give them a chance to show what they got.” A surprising inclusion is 38-year-old goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary. He is currently suspended by his club team Al Merreikh in Sudan for abandoning training sessions. There was speculation that he would not be allowed to take part in the highly anticipated friendly because of the suspension. El-Hadary is widely considered the greatest goalie in Egyptian history and was voted Best Goalkeeper in the 2010 African Cup of Nations. Mohamed Zidan's name was also called by Bradley, which raises questions for some because of his lack of playing time for Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund. Ahmed Hassan is also in the squad as he looks to surpass the record for most caps currently held by former Saudi keeper Mohamed Al-Deayea who has 181. Hassan is sitting at 178 with hopes of adding more. Bradley also mentioned that he would hold another camp after this match “to include new elements.” Squad list: Goalkeepers: Essam El-Hadary (El-Merreikh, Sudan), Ahmed El-Shennawy (Masry), Mohamed Sobhy (Ismaily) Defenders: Wael Gomaa, Ahmed Fathy (Ahly), Mahmoud Fathallah, Mohamed Abdel-Shafy (Zamalek), Ahmed Hegazy (Ismaily), Ahmed Ouka (Haras El-Hodoud), Ahmed Elmohamady (Sunderland, England), Mohamed Nassef (ENPPI) Midfielders: Hosni Abd-Rabou (Ismaily), Hossam Ghaly, Walid Soliman, Abdallah El-Saied (Ahly), Ibrahim Salah, Ahmed Hassan, Mahmoud Abdel-Razek ‘Shikabala' (Zamalek) Forwards: Emad Moteb (Ahly), Mohamed Zidan (Borussia Dortmund, Germany), Amr Zaki (Zamalek), Dodo El-Gabbas (Lierse, Belgium) BM
