Egypt's investment minister to visit UK this month
Published in Amwal Al Ghad on 08 - 09 - 2024

Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib announced on Sunday plans to visit the United Kingdom later this month. The visit aims to bolster trade and investment relations between the two countries.
During his trip, Minister El-Khatib will meet with British government officials and business leaders to discuss Egypt's recent economic reforms and investment opportunities. He will highlight the country's potential in sectors such as green technology, digital economy, renewable energy, and logistics. Additionally, he will promote the benefits of the Egypt-UK partnership agreement.
The minister emphasised the importance of strengthening economic ties between Egypt and the UK during a meeting with John Humphrey, UK Trade Commissioner for Africa. He outlined Egypt's government's vision and action plan for promoting investment and providing necessary facilities to investors.
For his part, Humphrey welcomed Minister El-Khatib's visit and expressed the UK government's commitment to enhancing bilateral relations. He highlighted the opportunities for British companies to expand their operations in Egypt and use it as a gateway to other African markets.
Meanwhile, Minister El-Khatib and Humphrey witnessed roundtable discussion held to showcase investment opportunities and incentives offered by the Egyptian government. Representatives from various government agencies and organisations participated, including the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones, the Suez Canal Economic Zone, the New Administrative Capital, and the Commercial Representation Authority.
The meeting was attended by Gareth Bayley, British Ambassador to Egypt, and other key officials.
