Even if the former Minister of Housing Ibrahim Suleiman performed pilgrimage and Umra (minor pilgrimage) many times, he will remain an object of accusation for many years to come. Once a report against him is kept, another one is filed to the Public Prosecutor. In fact, someone tries hardly to expose the minister's mistakes till the last day of his life. No sooner did the minister leave Mecca than he went back their at a royal invitation to partake in washing the Kaaba. Although the holy water of washing the Kaaba cancels all sins, minister Suleiman needs much water in the coming days. We should thank God for having a Public Prosecutor like Abdel Maguid Mahmoud, who has immediately referred report No. 1416 of 2009 filed by 47 opposition and independent MPs against the minister to the Public Funds Investigation to launch investigations in this regard. The important thing is that Mahmoud has called for investigations by the control bodies and especially the administrative control bodies. I wish Mahmoud would stress the importance of including investigations of the administrative control bodies in the era of former Major General Ahmed Abdel Rahman, who knows much about Suleiman. Abdel-Rahman had referred Suleiman to the illicit gain body for the first time when Suleiman was an influential minister. It was the first time in which a minister was referred to the administrative control body facing specific charges. The administrative control body has filed many reports against Suleiman but in vain. Abdel Rahman's boldness cost him his post and political future because the told the truth. The report that has been filed by 47 MPs may have been shelved as was the case in March 17, 2005 when a similar report was kept by the Ministry of Justice's Illicit Gain. We will not prediction investigation of the Public Fund Prosecution, but I think it is in the interest of the investigation to hear the testimony of Abdel Rahman. The investigations carried out with Suleiman in the Administrative Control Body under the supervision of Abdel Rahman were important.
The report filed by the 47 MPs reminds me of a report by MP Alaa Abdel Moneim to the Minister of Finance on the taxes paid by Suleiman on the profits of his consulting firm since its establishment till Suleiman became a minister.
