The national list, which was formed by Sameh Ashour, former Chief of the Bar Association, has swept the elections seats held the day before yesterday in Egypt during the Permanent Bureau of the Arab Lawyers Union in Morocco, amid a heated climate on the level of election seats. 13 Egyptian lawyers competed for 6 seats in Egypt's permanent Union, in addition to the post of president, which directly goes to the Egyptian Lawyers Syndicate. The results were as follows: Lamiaa Sabri Mabdi won 47 votes, Saber Ammar 38 votes, Sayyed Abdul Goni 36 votes, Akef Gad 37 votes, Yahya AlTony 34 votes, and finally Khalid Obokrishp obtained 30 votes.
Hamdi Khalifa, Chairman of the Bar, held a press conference today to introduce the circumstances of the disputes which took place in Morocco. Omar Haridi, a member of the Bar Council, said he warned list members of the Moroccan Abdel-Azim, which was locked in competition against the list of Ashur, and asked them to postpone the elections until the month of January, especially since the relationship with the members of the Arab Lawyers Union does not exceed one or two days, while their competitors relationship extends with the European Union (EU) for many years. The existing national statement, a copy of which Al-Masry Al-Youm obtained, denied any move by Sameh Ashour to reduce the value of Egypt in the Arab Lawyers Union, noting that they had been subjected to an unprecedented attack by the Chief and the current leaders of the ruling National Democratic Party. This was an act taken to distort their image and "expose Egypt's status in the EU, under the guise that they are seeking to amend the statute for the abolition of the presidency of Egypt to the Arab Lawyers Union." Furthermore, the list disowned the Ahmed Ezz meeting, Secretary of the party's national organization, with members of the Association Council a few days ago. For his part, Said Abdul Goni, Secretary-General of the Nasserite lawyers and one of the winners in the elections of the Arab Lawyers Union, said in a telephone conversation from Morocco to Al-Masry Al-Youm that Omar Haridi's support of the current President of the Syndicate, and the reservation of an aircraft at the expense of the State Bar provoked Arabs, and gave them the impression that the National Democratic Party supported deputy Hamdy Khalifa.
