Russian President Dmitry Medvedev's one-hour visit to the Giza pyramids caused a complete traffic paralysis in Giza and Cairo yesterday. Traffic police blocked the ring road and its entrances, as well as al-Mehwar (corridor) road half an hour before and after the visit. The motorcade took the ring road and al-Mehwar without going along Al-Haram and Faisal streets. Kamel Yassin, Head of Giza Traffic Directorate, denied any traffic crisis during the Russian President's visit to the pyramids. The traffic police managed to deal with the visit this time, as directions of streets have not changed. The Russian President wandered around the Pyramids of Giza for an hour alone.
