Rwanda will reopen its embassy in Cairo by the end of May after it was closed in 1985 as a cost-cutting measure, Egyptian Foreign Ministry said in a statement Thursday. Ambassador Mohamed El Hamzawi, the Assistant Foreign Minister for Nile Basin Countries Affairs, and the Rwandan government envoy met in Cairo Wednesday to discuss the reopening measures. El Hamzawi asserted that the move is seen as a direct result of a meeting that grouped Egypt's President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi and his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame on the sideline of Sharm El Sheikh Economic Conference in March.
