Mohamed Nagi Gedo and Ahmed Al-Mohamadi continue to take the Championship by storm as they both scored again against Blackburn this week. Hull City had mixed results this week as they played two games, the first coming against Blackburn at home while the second was against Bolton away from home. The first game ended in a 2-0 win and both goals were scored by our Egyptian stars Gedo and Al-Mohamadi in somewhat typical fashion. Both goals came after crosses from the left hand side were smashed home emphatically from inside the six yards with first-time shots. Al-Mohamadi was chosen as the official man of the match after playing a magnificent game as he destroyed Blackburn's left full back throughout the 90 minutes in addition to scoring his side's second goal. Gedo on the other hand is simply the talk of the city after scoring his third goal in four games for his new team. However, the second game for Hull City against Bolton didn't really go according to plan after it started in disastrous fashion as they conceded three goals in the first eight minutes. The game ended in a 4-1 defeat for the promotion hopefuls as they played their worst game of the season so far. Al-Mohamadi played the full game but wasn't really offered space or opportunities to threaten the opponents' defense while Gedo started the game and came off after the hour mark to end a frustrating night for the in-form striker who didn't get any chances to score during his time on the pitch. Ahmed Fathi played for two minutes in the first game but didn't take any part in the second. Hull City slip to third place as Watford moves to second. Still in England, Adam Al-Abd and Brighton continue to impress as they won their two games this week without conceding a goal thanks to Al-Abd and his fellow defenders. The first win came at the expense of league leaders Cardiff City in what was definitely the surprise result of the weekend as they defeated them 2-0. Al-Abd had a magnificent day at the office as he didn't give the dangerous Frazier Campbell a sniff on goal throughout the game. The second win came at home at the expense of a strong Burnley side with a single goal to nothing. Once again Al-Abd was outstanding alongside his teammates as they snatched their third win in the last four games. Brighton move up to sixth place after these two wins. In Belgium, Lierse finally managed to win their first game in 12 matches as they defeated Beerschot 3-1 away from home thanks to the efforts of our three Egyptian stars Ahmed Said Okka, Mustafa Shebeta and Ahmed Abu Mosalam who scored his side's second goal of the night. Both teams are fighting to avoid relegation which made it more of a cup tie than a league game but Lierse were at their very best this week which helped them snatch all three points. Abu Mosalam marked his return to the team after injury with a well taken strike to score his side's second goal which all but sealed the win. Apart from his goal, Abu Mosalam played a very good game and showed he can still offer a lot to the team. On the other hand, Shebeta and Okka got rare starts and played the full game. Both stars excelled and will definitely have a good chance of retaining their places in the starting XI next week. The win meant Lierse stayed 14th in the league table. In Switzerland, second place Basel faced league leaders Grasshoppers at home as they tried to cut the four-point gap splitting them from the top. Al-Nenni was included in the starting XI and played for 55 minutes and came off for our other Egyptian maestro Mohamed Salah who started the game on the bench. Al-Nenni played a fine game in the middle of the park and seemed unfazed by the big occasion but was replaced by Salah as Basel were trying to snatch all three points. Salah did not get any clear cut chances to score but he supplied his teammates with some key passes that they did not capitalise on. The draw meant no changes took place at the top as Basel stayed second. In Italy, Fiorentina's game this week against Bologna away from home was postponed for four days due to bad weather conditions. On the other hand, Fiorentina's club doctor stated that Ahmed Hegazs's rehabilitation is going really well and that the Egyptian defender could be back in full training in two months. In the UAE, our Egyptian legend Mohamed Abu Treika did not see action this week in his side's game against Al Shaab. Abu Treika missed the game due to a slight groin injury but will be back for the Gulf cup tie against Saudi club Al Faisaly according to the club doctor. In the Egyptian star's absence, Banni Yas managed to beat el Shaab 3-1 to stay six points behind league leaders Al Ain in third place level on points with Al Jezira. Arab and African: In England, Senegalese star Pappis Cisse scored an absolute cracker as Newcastle defeated Southampton 4-2 at home. Ivorian star Arouna Kone played a starring role as he scored a brace as Wigan defeated Reading 3-0 away from home. Benin star Stephan Sessegnon scored a consolation goal for Sunderland as they slipped to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of West Brom. African Player of the Year Yaya Toure scored a beauty as Man City managed to beat Chelsea 2-0. In Germany, Senegalese sensation Mama Diouf scored again as Hannover defeated Hamburg 5-1 with Diouf scoring the first goal before setting up another two. In France, Moroccan rising star Younes Belhanda scored the only goal of the game as Montpellier defeated Evian away from home.
