Egypt's Way of Revolution Front gets ready for Mohamed Mahmoud
The recently-launched Way of the Revolution Front calls for an event on Saturday to prepare for the 2nd anniversary of the battle of Mohamed Mahmoud

Egypt's recently-established Way of the Revolution Front will organise a news conference on Saturday evening in Mohamed Mahmoud Street, off Cairo's historic Tahrir Square.
This conference takes place a few days ahead of the second anniversary of the deadly clashes of November 2011 on the now-iconic street.
"We will not let them claim ownership of the revolution," read a statement by the group, referring to calls made by both supporters of the military and supporters of deposed president Mohamed Morsi to demonstrate on the same day.
A campaign currently gathering signatures to call on army general Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to run for presidency has announced it will demonstrate on the Mohamed Mahmoud anniversary to "support" the army and the police.
Meanwhile, there are reports that supporters of deposed Islamist president Mohamed Morsi will also demonstrate on the same day to "condemn the military."
Morsi was deposd by the military in July following protests against rule. His defiant supporters have since then been demonstrating against what they call "the mlitary coup."
The news conference is scheduled to start at 5pm.
The front announced it will screen a documentary featuring live footage from the clashes two years ago. The announcement also called on graffiti artists to converge on the street and commemorate the day through graffiti art.
Around 47 protesters were killed during four days of street clashes on Mohamed Mahmoud Street in November 2011 between security forces and protesters opposed to the then-ruling military council, which took power following Hosni Mubarak's ouster in February 2011.
During the clashes, protesters called for the military council to step down from power and accused the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt's largest political force at the time, ofinadequately condemning the security forces' violence against protesters.
At the height of the tension, the council announced that it would hand over power to an elected president on 30 June 2012.
The Way of The Revolution Front was launched on 24 September, aiming to provide an alternative to the current polarisation between the military and Muslim Brotherhood. The Front includes leading members of the April 6 Youth Movement, Strong Egypt Party, the Revolutionary Socialists and the Justice and Freedom Youth.
