Leading Muslim Brotherhood figure, said to be one of the group's negotiators in its talks with the Interim government, is blocked from travelling to Dubai at Cairo International Airport Mohamed Ali Beshr, the leading Muslim Brotherhood member, was barred from travel Thursday at Cairo International Airport while on in his way to Dubai. Beshr --one of the few Brotherhood officials still outside jail-- was detained until it was checked if he was wanted by authorities or involved in any legal case. He was later released. The former minister of local development in ousted president Mohamed Morsi's administration was among core Muslim Brotherhood figures responsible for talks with European Union officials. While the Muslim Brotherhood has repeatedly denied engaging in talks with the interim government, the names of Mohamed Ali Bashar and Amr Darrag are often referenced as negotiators. "The officers did not tell me the reason why I was barred from travelling" Beshr told Ahram Arabic gate, adding that he was heading to Dubai to participate in an international arbitration case as per his profession. "I have no comment about what happened. I respected the order and returned home without knowing the reason behind the travel ban," Beshr added. Earlier this week, leading Brotherhood figures had a meeting with influential and veteran journalist and writer Mohamed Hassanein Heikal, who is said to maintain influence with decision makers in the interim administration. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/81999.aspx
