Egypt's general attorney of state security started interrogating three Salafists on Saturday for allegedly being members of a banned group and for wanting to travel to Syria to join Al-Qaeda's Al-Nusra front. The attorney accuses the three defendants Mohamed Abdel-Haleem, Mohamed Mostafa and Amr Mohamed of being members to the Salafist group, which he label as “banned”. Mamdouh Ismail lawyer of the defendants told Ahram Online that his clients have denied all charges, stressing that this is a fabricated case. Investigations are still on going. According to a recent study by the London-based International Center for the Study of Radicalization (ICRS) around 5,500 foreign fighters had traveled to Syria since the crisis erupted more than two years ago. http://english.ahram.org.eg/News/71198.aspx
