President Mohamed Morsi headed to Mecca to start off Umrah (The Lesser Pilgrimage) late on Wednesday evening after finishing discussions with Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah Bin Abdel-Aziz and the Crown Prince Salman Bin Abdel-Aziz. The President travelled from Jeddah to Mecca in a large convoy of 30 cars. Morsi was accompanied by his wife for the Umrah ritual. The President and his entourage performed Al Fagr (DAwn) prayers in the Grand Mosque in Mecca. This is Morsi's first overseas trip after being sworn in as Egypt's head of state on 30 June.
