In spite of looming global recession, Dubai's non-oil trade grew 24 per cent to AED 345 billion (US$93.9bn) in the first half of 2011 compared to the same period the year before. Data from Dubai's customs authority shows that while imports grew by 21 per cent to AED 214 billion ($58.26bn), total exports increased by 28 per cent to AED131 billion ($35.66bn) in 1H2011 over the same period in 2010.
