Poetic theatre evening at Beit El-Shaer
On Sunday, 18 September, the Beit El-Shaer cultural centre will host an evening of poetic theatre, featuring famous poets and actors

Adding a change to Beit El-Shaer's (The House of Poetry) weekly poetry evenings, on Sunday, 18 September the location will present excerpts from the poetic theatre plays of renowned Egyptian poets such as Abdel Rahman El-Sharkawy, Salah Abdel Sabour, Mohamed Ibrahim Abou Senna and Hassan Teleb.
The evening will be held under the patronage of poet Ahmed Abdel Moaty Hegazy, director of the Beit El-Shaer, and will include actors bringing theatre poetry to life: Khalil Morsi, Khaled Al-Dahabi and Mofeed Ashour. Hanaa Abd El-Fattah, director of the performance, will also join the actors on stage.
The poetic theatre evening, covering texts written between 1960 and 2011, aims to highlight the importance of the genre in Egypt's cultural arena. A number of renowned poets, as well as important figures from the Egypt's cultural world, along with the regular attendees and poetry lovers, are expected to fill Beit El-Shaer on Sunday.
