Hunger striker to leave hospital for father's funeral Ayman Abul Liel was moved to Sharm El-Sheikh hospital after requesting to be treated the same way as ousted president Mubarak, but will return to Luxor for his father's funeral
After being on a hunger strike for more than 10 days, Ayman Abul Liel is making plans to leave Sharm El-Sheikh hospital, where the ousted president Hosni Mubarak is also being treated, in order to attend his father's funeral. Abul Liel was on hunger strike in Square when he met former minister of health Ashraf Hatem, who was replaced during the recent Cabinet reshuffle. The former health minister approved Abul Liel's request to be moved to Sharm El-Sheikh hospital and be treated like Mubarak. He intends to travel to his hometown of Luxor to attend his father's funeral, but is currently still in the hospital under security. The conditions of his protest are similar to the demands issued by the revolutionaries in Tahrir Square. He has submitted them to both the Cabinet's office and the ruling military council. Abul Liel has said he will not eat unless his demands are met. So far, the patient has not seen the ousted president while being treated in the same hospital.
