Cairo Criminal Court released Tuesday two defendants in the case known publicly as Third Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis, Al Bawaba News reported. The defendants faced charges of joining illegal group, funding terrorist group and embracing takfiri ideas. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army has been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against Ansar Bayt Al Maqdis terrorist group after it claimed responsibility for several deadly attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel.
