Security sources reveled that Wilayat Sinai terrorist group are using women in planting improvised explosive devices (IED) that target army and police personnel in North Sinai governorate, Al-Bawaba News reported Sunday. The sources pointed out that the security authorities succeeded to identify women terrorist cell in North Sinai, adding that most of them are wives of Wilayat Sinai leaders who live in the governorate's Arish city. Since September 2013, the Egyptian army and police have been carrying out an ongoing military campaign against Wilayat Sinai, formerly known as Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, after it had claimed responsibility for several attacks targeting Egyptian military and police personnel. In 2014, the group announced its allegiance to Islamic State jihadist group.
