Egypt's Military Spokesperson, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Ghoneim announced Thursday the detention of a dangerous terrorist in the North Sinai border city of Rafah besides confiscating large quantities of drugs and unlicensed weapons, Al-Bawaba News reported. The armed forces launched a security campaign to arrest the outlaws and the wanted criminals in North Sinai, where most of terrorist attacks take place, the spokesperson wrote on Facebook. The seized items included weapons, drugs, bombs and ammunition in separated parts of North Sinai, Ghoneim added without revealing details on the detained terrorist, or the group he belongs to. Egypt's Sinai Peninsula has witnessed unrest since the ouster of former president Mohamed Morsi July 2013, as terrorists focus their operations against police and army, especially in Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid.
