CAIRO: Chairman of the Egyptian al-Ghad Party Ayman Nour today filed a lawsuit before the Administrative Judiciary Court against the head of the Supreme Electoral Committee and the Minister of the Interior. The suit demands that the decision to prohibit Nour from re-registering his name to voters' lists be vacated. Nour argues that he must be able to vote with a national identification card both in the People's Assembly and presidential elections. He also claims that the lack of response given to his demands is a violation of his constitutional and legal rights. Nour expressed sadness for the seven million citizens who were previously sentenced and prohibited from running in elections or voting. He claims that this is a violation of Article 62 in the Egyptian Constitution.
