CAIRO: Potential Egyptian presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabbahi today underlined the necessity of prosecuting those involved in the killing of Ahmed Sayed Soroor who died yesterday after being struck by a security vehicle outside the Egyptian Cabinet. While he praised new Egyptian Prime Minister Kamal el-Ganzouri, Sabbahi claims that he is not the right person to pull Egypt through this transitional period. “El-Ganzouri was a part of the former regime and we need a loyalist of the revolution,” Sabbahi argued. “We must not drive a wedge between Tahrir and the Egyptian people,” he added. The next parliamentary elections will not express the will of the Egyptian people, he said, but he will respect the results.
