CAIRO: The head of Egypt's ruling military council, Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, met separately with presidential hopefuls Mohamed el-Baradei and Amr Moussa on Friday. Tantawi discussed internal affairs and means of ending differences among political powers with both candidates, according to well-informed sources. The meeting also tackled foreign pressures on the military council regarding this matter, they added. Amr Moussa proposed forming an advisory council including himself, el-Baradei, and Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh as well as other figures. Moussa said he discussed ways to get Egypt through this crisis.
