Security forces recently managed to force Egyptian demonstrators out of Tahrir Square by firing intense volleys of tear gas canisters, pushing most of the protestors back to the Qasr al-Nil Bridge. Security forces beefed up their presence forcing the stalwart demonstrators to retreat. Roughly 1,000 demonstrators continued to protest in front of the Semiramis Hotel in the Sqaure and others broke away and continued to confront the Central Security Forces working intensely to clear the Square. A photographer from Egyptian independent newspaper Al-Masry Al-Youm was injured in the clashes. A car is also reportedly on fire in front of the Arab League Headquarters near the Qasr al-Nil Bridge.
