The Egyptian press today covered important issues, including that some close sources to military council assured that the head of the Supreme Council of Armed Forces (SCAF), Field Marshal Hussein Tantawi, has no intentions to run in upcoming presidential elections. Assistant Chief Medical Examiner's statements revealed that Forensic Medical Department was destroyed as a part of a plan to spread chaos in Egypt's institutions. YOUM7: Journalists Syndicate head Mamdouh el-Waly said he refused trying journalists before the military prosecution. He assured that journalists of online newspapers have the right to obtain membership in the syndicate. Al-Ahram: Director of General administration of the elections, Maj. Gen. Refaat Komosan, revealed guarantees to enable all voters to vote in upcoming parliamentary elections. These guarantees come under a series of new procedures, including a database for national ID information and eliminate all old interferences, which used to appear during classification of the electoral constituents. Director of the technical office of the High Judicial Committee of the Elections Yousri Abdel Karim said judges will supervise the elections. He added he will let all people vote even if the voting process lasts until dawn. He assured the committee's refusal of the use of religious slogans, and he expected participation rates to not exceed 70 percent. Al-Masry Al-Youm: A senior source revealed that Egypt's next president may not be from the proposed candidates at all. He said the president may be a university professor or a prominent economic expert. The source denied that Tantawi has any intentions to run in the presidential elections, adding that Tantawi's aim is to retire after transferring the authority. He added that nomination will open in August and elections will be in November 2012, so long as the committee is not late in creating the new constitution. Al-Akhbar: Assistant chief medical examiner Ashraf el-Refaei said the Medical Forensic Department is now exposed to devastation. He said this is a part of a plan to spread chaos in Egypt's institution, starting with the judges, lawyers, doctors, teachers and others. El-Refaei expressed his refusal of the forensic physicians' strike because they are dealing with bodies. He said he did himself the examination on Egyptian soldier Soliman Khater's body. Khater was shot by Israelis at the border. He said he is one hundred percent sure that the soldier has committed suicide and wasn't killed as people claim. Al-Shorouq: US-based Freedom House Executive Director David Cramer arrived Cairo in a fast visit, where he met activists and governmental principals. Cramer said his visit aims to clarify some facts about the attack on Freedom House in Egypt after Egypt's January 25 Revolution. He said he met with Foreign Minister Mohamed Amr during the visit. Cramer refused to talk about any expectations about agreeing or refusing to the existence of the organization in Egypt. He denied any financial supports to individuals or political movements after the revolution, commenting: “The transitional phase in Egypt is not on the right pace and the Muslim Brotherhood should respect the rules of the political game.” Al-Gomhorreya: Crisis between land transport workers and the Ministry of Manpower and Immigration escalated after Minister Ahmed el-Borai insulted members of the General Union of Land Transport while they were on their way to a meeting with the Minister. It is mentioned that el-Borai insulted the workers and threatened to dissolve the General Syndicate.
