CAIRO, Egypt: The uncertain security situation in Egypt is caused by remnants of the country's formerly ruling regime, who aim to frighten people, according to Egyptian presidential candidate Abdel Moneim Aboul Fotouh. Aboul Fotouh was in the midst of his tour of the tenth settlement in Cairo's Nasr City neighborhood. Aboul Fotouh visited grocery stores and shook hands with salesmen. Residents welcomed him warmly. Aboul Fotouh said he will do his best to solve Egyptian problems regularly. Abuol Fotouh said Egypt's economic crisis will pass peacefully. “Egypt is rich in recourses and human power. That will help restore Egypt's economic rank in the Middle East,” said Aboul Fotouh. One of salesmen asked Aboul Fotouh if he would repeat his visit should he become president. Aboul Fotouh answered that after Egypt's January 25 Revolution, everyone must realize that the people chose him for the post – if he is elected – and his job will be to serve and help the people. Aboul Foutoh also visited a public transportation stop and discussed transportation problems with drivers. Drivers complained that some policemen impose royalties by abusing their power. One of resident insisted on inviting Aboul Fotouh to dinner in a local restaurant. Aboul Fotouh accepted the invitation and discussed Egypt's next phase during the meal.
