Ayman Nour, founder of the al-Ghad Party and likely presidential candidate, expressed concern about recent events in the Sinai Peninsula, saying that the death of Egyptians at the hands of Israelis should not go unpunished. Nour said the recognition by America and Israel, of security deficit in Sinai opens the door to amend the Egyptian-Israeli peace agreement, which strictly limits Egyptian security forces in the eastern half of the peninsula. According to Nour, Israel is trying to extract itself from its own internal crisis by clashing with a regional power adding, "77% of Israel is upset about the revolution in Egypt.” Nour said he was optimistic about the fall of the corrupt military and the demise of these systems will help the Palestinian issue. Nour congratulated the Libyan people on liberating themselves from a "mad tyrant" and hoped that the situation in Syria would soon improve.
