NORTH SINAI, Egypt: Sources reveal the company operating the gas pipeline, GASCO, started flowing Egyptian gas to Jordan and Israel as experiment until damages are repaired. Damages resulted from the recent explosion on Egypt's gas pipeline, which flow gas to Jordan and Israel. Sources expected GASCO will resume flowing the gas regularly within four days. An official in North Sinai Governorate, General Gaber al-Araby, said the explosion of the gas pipeline didn't affect the residents of Arish and the rates of gas flow to houses are normal. Al-Araby said the governorate's desire to provide the residents with the gas is to avoid any crisis. Egypt provides Israel with 43 percent of its energy needs, equaling 300 million cubic feet of gas per day. Egypt provides Jordan with 80 percent of its energy needs in ordinary conditions. The amount of Egyptian gas exported to both countries is reduced to the half due to the experimental operation. In the same context, Egyptian authorities didn't find out the identities of those who tried to explode the gas pipeline in North Sinai.
