No Egyptian leather will be exported for one year, announced the General Assemby of the Leather Tannin Chamber. The decision came after putting the matter to a vot in the Assembly's meeting, headed by Hamdy Harb. Around 90 percent of the voters approved the export suspension. Hamdy Harb, the head of the chamber, said the decision will be presented to the Minister of Industry and Foreign Trade, Samir al-Sayad. Harb said the chamber will demand implementing a strict supervision on artificial leather, which harms the customer and the environment. Harab added that the chamber will demand the suspension of importing artificial leather and its products to pave the way for the Egyptian leather and products to prove their quality and to compete with international natural leather products.
