The Egyptian government has approved increasing educational investments by three times what they were last year, said Minister of Education Ahmed Gamal el-Din Moussa. Moussa added that the government believes Egyptian development should begin with educational development. In related news, Tariq el-Houssary, assistant to the Minister of Education for administrative development, met dozens of technical employees. The employees gathered after a colleague's death because of an electric shock while on the job. During the meeting, el-Houssary promised to consider a payment increase which may reach 15 percent. He promised to consider life insurance for employees and industrial safety clothes as well. Meanwhile the employees asked to raise the secondary examinations committee to 500 days. El-Houssary said the Ministry of Education has already raised the committee if secondary examinations for the coming financial year.
