Secretary General of the Arab League, Amr Moussa said that Arab states are willing to assist the Palestinian government to meet its burdens and obligations after Israel blocked tax money reaching the Palestinian government. Moussa said that as an occupying power in the Gaza Strip, Israel is responsible of providing the needs of every sector, including gas supply. It cannot give that responsibility to Egypt, he said. Moussa also praised the actions taken by Egypt on permanently opening the Rafah crossing permanently. The Secretary General called upon Israeli authorities to use international law when dealing with Palestinians, and to provide them with the necessary means of life as people living under occupation. Moussa told reporters during a meeting at the Arab League that this would not prevent Egypt from helping Palestinians. In response to a question about Israel's attempt to impose the Israeli-American perspective on peace in the Arab world, Moussa said the U.S. perspective is different from the Israeli one given that President Barack Obama spoke of a two state solution as well as an establishment of a Palestinian state on land that was captured by Israel in1967. Moussa said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech to the U.S. Congress showed that Israel would complicate the peace process. Moussa said the outcome of Europe's recognition of the Palestinian state during the General Assembly's meetings looks good so far. Arabic here
