Delaying parliamentary elections will not be in the people's interest, said Mohamed Morsi, the president of the Freedom and Justice Party, the newly-founded political wing of the Muslim Brotherhood. "Delaying elections will open the door for former members of the National Democratic Party and Israelis to counter the revolution," Morsi said. Morsi said the people can choose between good and evil. In an interview with Channel One on Egyptian state television, he said Egyptians are not naïve to be scared of the Muslim Brotherhood if they were to gain the majority of votes.
