Ahli did not receive any notifications from the Egyptian FA regarding the new date of the Super Cup clash with ENPPI, football director Sayed Abdul-Hafiz said. The FA has announced that the Super Cup game will take place on September 8 following an agreement with the Minister of Interior; a decision that has yet to be learnt by the Reds. “We weren't informed by the Super Cup new date until now," Abdul-Hafiz told FilGoal.com on Thursday. “We are waiting for the EFA to contact us to decide whether the date suits us or not. We cannot make any decision before being officially informed by the EFA." Ahli have two continental fixtures before and after the FA's proposed Super Cup date as they visit Mazembe of DR Congo on September 2 before clashing with Zamalek two weeks later in Cairo. The FA announced a month ago that the Super Cup was scheduled for August 26, but lingering security concerns prompted the postponement of the fixture to an indefinite date. The Super Cup game is almost set to be staged behind closed doors as domestic competitions had been put on hold in the wake of the Port-Said disaster that rocked Egypt last February.
