Zamalek full-back Ahmed Samir has been handed a two-match ban for spitting on an opponent in the 2-0 win over Bani Suef Telephones. The 30-year-old was caught spitting on Telephones striker Mostafa Mehanna as it appeared that the duo was engaged in an off-the-ball altercation. After the game, Samir apologized via Modern Sport TV, stressing that he buried the hatchet with the Telephones youngster during the league match. “I've done something bad and I've never done it before in my life, but I was so furious when he insulted me,” Samir said. “I feel really sorry and I apologized to Mostafa more than once during and after the game.” Samir has been enjoying a fine spell of late as he scored a goal and set up another in the last two wins over Arab Contractors and Telephones. The former Lierse full-back will miss league matches against Masri and Petrojet.
