The 2010-2011 Egyptian Cup will be resumed on the 6th of September as the Premier League new season kicks off on October the 14th, the FA announced. Last term's cup competition was halted following the January 25 Revolution, but the FA decided to compress the remaining fixtures ahead of the new season. League champions Ahli will meet third division Chema Aswan in the remaining match of the round of 32 on September 6 as the last-16 fixtures will be played on the 21st/22nd. The final shall take place on October 21, one week before the 2011-2012 Premier League season starts. Next season's league competition will witness the presence of 20 teams for the first time, amid doubts around the FA's ability to implement the new system.
