Zamalek hitman Amr Zaki saw his knee injury relapse ahead of the Whites' Champions League match with Club Africain in the round of 32. The 27-year-old nursed the nagging problem for a couple of months before getting back in action midway through February. However, his injury resurfaced after sustaining a knock in Sunday's friendly with Ahli Bank. "Zaki will not travel with us to Syria (where Zamalek's training camp will be held) before heading to Tunisia," football director Ibrahim Hassan told FilGoal.com. "He's out of our plans for Africain; we want to avoid possible injury aggravation so we will give him more time to rest and recover." Although Zamalek's coaching staff say he's ruled out of the match, Zaki remains adamant to make the squad. "I should have undergone medical tests either in Germany or Qatar after my comeback but I opted to do so after Zamalek's game with Africain and Egypt's (Nations Cup qualifier) with South Africa," the well-built striker told FilGoal.com. "But I decided to undergo these examinations right after the minor bruise I picked up. I should catch up with Zamalek's contingent in Tunisia and later play the game with Africain."
