Ahli guardian Mahmoud Aboul-Saoud has been declared fit for next week's league trip to Ismaili, to end the Red Devils' goalkeeping headache. The Cairo giants were left without a keeper after Aboul-Saoud sustained a calf muscle strain in the 1-1 draw at lowly Gouna last week, with Sherif Ekrami and Ahmed Adel also unavailable through injury. But Ahli head coach Hossam Al-Badri breathed a sigh of relief after the former Mansoura shot-stopper reached full recovery on Sunday. "I took part in training today and was praised by assistant coach Alaa Maihoub," Aboul-Saoud told FilGoal.com. "I didn't feel any pain, and thus the medical staff confirmed that I'm fit to play against Ismaili." Regular keeper Ekrami picked up a knee injury that ruled him out of the Gouna game, paving the way for Aboul-Saoud to make his competitive debut for Ahli. Aboul-Saoud, who joined Ahli from Mansoura in the summer, pulled off a string of impressive saves in the match. Adel, now seems to be Ahli's third-choice custodian, is still nursing a damaged knee cartilage.
