Ahli are seeking to atone for their 1-0 Champions League loss at JS Kabylie on Monday by scoring their maiden Egyptian Premier League win this season over Gaish. The Red Devils were left bemoaning after losing in Algeria in an ill-tempered match that saw the visitors clash with some security personnel and Kabylie players, when a Mohamed Shawky goal was disallowed. Previously, Ahli had kicked off the domestic campaign with a goalless draw with Police Union in an eventless match. "We need to fully concentrate on our match with Gaish and forget all about what happened at Kabylie," Ahli coach Hossam Al-Badri said. "The game will be a tough one and we hope that it will give us a morale boost." Gaish, on the other hand, are looking to make amends for their 2-1 defeat by Masri in their league first match. Team News Ahli are still suffering lack of strikers.
Al-Badri Francis Doe is still unavailable through injury. Forwards Afrotto and Ahmed Shokri are also unfit. Lebanese marksman Mohamed Ghaddar was left out of the squad too for failing to impress after his arrival in the summer. Substitute Osama Hosni could start against Gaish as Mohamed Talaat, the second striker in the squad, is yet to reach full recovery. Al-Badri might also opt to field new signing Geddo, who's looking to break his duck at the Cairo side, as a hitman. At the other end, Gaish named Togolese striker Mikael Dodzi Dogbe for the match. Dogbe went AWOL following the end of last season to incur the wrath of the military side, who said they would not tolerate his behavior. The 33-year-old, whose contract runs out in 2013, said he remained in France and could not join the team's pre-season training camp for family reasons. He was eventually allowed to feature for Gaish, who should reveal their full squad hours ahead of the match.
