Al-Hani Soliman has penned a one-year contract extension with Ittihad, the goalkeeper said on Thursday. The new deal will keep Soliman, who has been Ittihad's regular custodian over the past few years, at the Alexandria-based club until the summer of 2013. "I have a $1 million buy-out clause in the new contract," Soliman told FilGoal.com. "However, this clause can only be invoked if a foreign club want to sign me." Soliman, 25, is one of the finest goalkeepers in the Egyptian Premier League. Cairo giants Ahli were interested in signing him in the summer of 2008 when they were trying to make up for the abrupt departure of Egypt goalie Essam Al-Hadari. However, he stayed put and managed to get an Egypt call-up in the same year. Despite his consistent displays, Soliman lost his place as the Pharaohs' third-choice keeper after being outshone by former Mansoura and current Ahli goalie Mahmoud Aboul-Saoud.
