Zamalek winger Shikabala will not be able to play in Egypt's friendly game against DR Congo after picking up a groin injury in his team's opening Premier League game. The 24-year-old was initially included in Egypt's 23-man squad for Wednesday's game but withdrew few hours later. Despite his recent disciplinary problems, Shikabala was included in Zamalek's starting line-up in their 2-2 draw away to Harras Hodoud on Thursday. He played on the right of a four-man midfield but was substituted nine minutes from time after sustaining the injury, making way for Alaa Ali. Shikabala was part of Egypt's squad in their triumphant African Cup of Nations campaign in Angola last January. He played a bit-part role though, managing only one appearance in the 2-0 group stage victory over Mozambique. The talented forward jokingly said afterwards that coach Hassan Shehata opted not to field him again because of a one back-heel pass he made against Mozambique.
