Miroslav Klose's hope to score a record-equaling 15th goal at the World Cup might be shattered after the Germany striker suffered a back injury ahead of Saturday's third-place playoff against Uruguay. The 32-year-old picked up the complaint during Germany's 1-0 defeat by Spain in the tournament's semi final on Wednesday. "Klose has problems with his back," Germany assistant coach Hansi Flick said on Thursday. "He was hurt in an aerial duel, and we are hoping that he will be OK for the match." Klose has scored four goals so far at the South Africa finals to take his tally to 14 goals. The Bayern Munich frontman is one goal shy of equaling the record of former Brazil striker Ronaldo.
