Egypt striker Emad Meteb says he is heading to Belgium to complete a move to Standard Liege, implying that an extension with Ahli is almost impossible. Meteb, who is a free agent, signed a pre-contract with Standard amid some serious attempts from Ahli to convince him to extend his stay and back out of the Belgian deal. While the unsettled striker remained silent for a couple of weeks, comments from his agent were not parallel to those emanating from the Cairo club. But Meteb has finally revealed his plans of moving to Standard, indicating there is a scant chance he could back down on his decision and stay with Ahli. Agreement "I have an agreement with Standard and I must fulfill it, I don't know why it has been rumored that I will back out of the deal and rejoin Ahli," said Meteb. "Mahmoud Al-Khatib (Ahli vice-president) has spoken to me about an extension, but I told him I already agreed a deal with Standard. "Al-Khatib understood and told me that the door is open for my return in case anything happens. "I will fly to Belgium soon to complete the deal and start the new season with Standard. "If any problem occurred there, which is unlikely, then maybe I could think about staying with Ahli."
