Ahli are considering asking the Egyptian FA to bring in foreign referees for their Premier League games, the club's football director Hadi Khashaba said on Friday. The league leaders voiced their anger over the decisions of referee Mohamed Abbas during their 1-1 draw with Harras Hodoud on Thursday. Ahli coach Hossam Al-Badri was particularly infuriated by his decision to allow Ahmed Eid's goal to stand although striker Ahmed Abdul-Ghani appeared in an offside position in the build up. "We may ask for foreign referees after what happened against Hodoud," Khashaba told Al-Hayat TV. The EFA usually assign foreign officials for Ahli's clashes against fierce rivals Zamalek and Ismaili. However, clubs could be allowed to bring in non-Egyptian referees if they cover the expenses of appointing them for league games. "We have no problems with that," refereeing committee chief Mohamed Hossam said. "Bringing in foreign referees does not mean that we have bad referees. They are all humans who make mistakes." Several league matches this week were marred by some controversial decisions from the referees. The likes of Arab Contractors and Military Production said they were affected by the referees' mistakes while Ahli went as far as questioning the integrity of the EFA.
