Dutch striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has completed a move to German club Hamburg Saturday on a one-and-a-half year deal. Van Nistelrooy joined the Bundesliga outfit on a free transfer after Real Madrid declared his contract null and void. "Yes, we have made an agreement with (Van Nistelrooy)," Hamburg coach Bruno Labbadia said. "I'm very happy that he decided to join us. He's joined for free." The 33-year-old moved to Real in 2006 after spending five years at Manchester United. He decided to leave the Spanish giants because he wants to play regular first-team football in order to earn a call-up for this year's World Cup. Van Nistelrooy lost his regular place at Santiago Bernabeu upon the arrival of a host of stars in the summer, including Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo. The veteran marksman was targeted by a number of clubs this winter, such as Totteham Hotspur and West Ham United.
