Real Madrid have refuted claims linking the club with a mega buy-out deal with Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al-Nahyan. It has been reported that Al-Nahyan, the owner of Manchester City and a friend to Real chairman Florentino Perez, has tabled a €1million bid to buy the Royal Club. But the Primera Liga giants stressed that Al-Nahyan's friendship with Perez is the only link. "Real Madrid wishes to inform: that Real Madrid president Mr Florentino Perez has had a great friendship for many years with His Highness, Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan," a Real statement read. "And that the so-called interest and the existence of any offer to acquire Real Madrid are false. "His Highness has always shown tremendous respect for the club and understands that Real Madrid belongs to its members."
