Midfielder Hassan Mostafa has been dropped from Zamalek's squad for the Egyptian Premier League game against Military Production for no apparent reason. The former Ahli man was left out of an 18-man squad for Saturday's game at the newly-built Al-Salam Stadium, which hosted several games during the U-20 World Cup. Zamalek did not disclose the reason for omitting Mostafa, who partnered Ghanaian Ibrahim Ayew in the heart of the team's midfield during Tuesday's 1-1 draw with newcomers Gouna. The 30-year-old energetic midfielder joined Zamalek in the close season after his contract with arch-rivals Ahli expired and was tipped to solve their midfield crisis. He has yet to impress though. Ivorian midfielder Remi Adiko, another summer arrival, and towering defender Rami Adel were also ruled out of the game. Zamalek will have to do without off-form striker Amr Zaki after he received a red card against Gouna.
