Sevilla scored their second successive UEFA Champions League victory over Rangers, who were condemned at home to a 4-1 loss on Tuesday. Abdoulay Konko opened the scoring on 50 minutes with a delightful header, connecting with Steven Whittaker's cross. Adriano ensured the Spanish side's superiority with an accurate shot from inside the box 14 minutes later, thanks to a Luis Fabiano cut back. Fabiano connected with a Frederic Kanoute precise cross on 72 minutes, to notched the third and leave Rangers with no hope at all. Two minutes after, both players switched roles as Fabiano flicked the ball from the right flank towards Kanoute, who tucked the ball unmarked into the net. Nacho Novo hit the consolation goal two minutes from time with a long-range drive. Meanwhile, Stuttgart failed to register a win over Unirea Urziceni, who held the German side to a 1-1 stalemate. Serdar Tasci opened the scoring only after five minutes from inside the box. But Dacian Varga cancelled out the visitors' lead on 48 minutes, when he capitalized on a defensive lapse to steal the ball and score with a curling shot from close range. Stuttgart are now second with two points, four behind Group G leaders Sevilla who beat Unirea in their first game. Unirea and Rangers, third and fourth respectively, have one point each.
