Zamalek have extended Hazem Emam's deal until 2014, after he was said to be in talks with Ahli over a possible move. Recent reports suggested that Ahli are seriously targeting the talented right back, therefore Zamalek offered him a new contract to diminish their arch-rivals' chances of landing him. The new deal will see Emam get paid EGP 400,000 per season, in addition to a EGP 100,000 annual raise. "I penned the new contract, which has already been notarized," Emam, who was promoted to the first team late last season, told FilGoal.com. "I insisted to sign the contract as soon as possible to put an end to speculations over my future." On the other hand, Ahmed Al-Merghani initially refused to sign a similar deal at Zamalek. The highly-rated defender should make his final decision within the next couple of days.
