Ahli are still unsure whether Mohamed Abou-Treika and Hossam Ashour will be fit for Friday's league clash with Gaish as the midfield duo is still struggling with injury. Egypt playmaker Abou-Treika sustained a knee injury while on international duty and was accordingly ruled out of the qualifier in Rwanda. Even though Ahli said on Sunday that the 31-year-old will be able to play against Gaish, the Red Devils conceded that Treika will have a late fitness test. The same goes for Ashour, who picked up a knee injury in Ahli's friendly win over Nasr.
New deal for goalkeeper Abdul-Monem In the same context, strikers Emad Meteb and Mohamed Fadl have resumed full training, following their long-term injuries, and are both in contention to play at the weekend. Meanwhile, youngsters Ahmed Abdul-Monem, Mohamed Samir, Abdullah Farouk and Mostafa Shebeita are close to signing new deals with the Cairo club. Abdul-Monem is currently considered first-choice goalkeeper for coach Hossam Al-Badri after he impressed in the opening games of the season.
