UAE side Ahli are attempting a loan bid for Egypt skipper Ahmed Hassan after failing to sign playmaker Mohamed Abou-Treika, FilGoal.com understands. The Dubai-based club contacted Egyptian champions Ahli over the possibility of acquiring the services of Hassan on a three-month deal. They want to bolster their squad ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup that will take place in UAE in December. Ahli, for whom plays another Egyptian midfielder in Hosni Abd-Rabou, will participate in the tournament after winning the UAE league. They were keen to land Abou-Treika in the summer but Cairo giants Ahli turned down their offer. They also reportedly failed in their attempt to convince Czech midfielder Pavel Nedved to come out of retirement. Hassan made a bright start to the season, scoring three goals in as many games as Ahli gained seven points from three games. The 34-year-old, a natural central midfielder who can also play as a right back, has been deployed in a more advanced role for the Red Devils this season to support lone striker Francis Doe.
